Here is the note card featured in the Note-Working Success System for September.

Become Memorable!

Did you know that note cards with beautiful graphics and inspirational messages are often kept? One contact told me she loved the card I sent so much that she framed it and put it on her desk - so now she thinks of me every time she sees it!
Profits in Progress helps busy professionals become memorable. Our Note-Working Success System makes it easy for you to handwrite and mail notes to 60 individuals throughout the month, with a system to track and measure results.

NOTE-able Power Tip!
Looking for a way to stand out to a potential employer? If so, here are some MUST DOs when following up on a job interview:
1. Stand out from the crowd with a handwritten note instead of a letter. An odd
size envelope that is hand addressed with a recipient's name and address has better than a 99% open rate. A handwritten note will make it through a
gatekeeper to the intended recipient's desk.

2. Sooner is better. Write and mail your thank you notes by the day after your meeting. Timeliness and attention to detail make a great impression.

3. Make the salutation match the tone from your interview meeting. If you were told to address your interviewer by their first name, than a first name is appropriate for your note card. If you are unsure, use Mr., Ms. or Dr. and their last name as the salutation. Make your best impression by addressing your recipient in a formal manner.

4. Send a thank you to anyone who helps you make a connection. Show your appreciation for referrals and contacts from people in your network or within an organization. Let them know the status of the connections they have made for you. One of our most basic needs is to feel appreciated. Make sure that people that are helping you know that you appreciate them!

Remember…relationships count before, during and after changing jobs!

MailExpress has never looked so good. Our sister company, Lowry Vickers Design, previously created a logo and brochure for MailExpress and they wanted more! So we created invitations, forms and business cards for this dynamic and growing company. What are your needs? Call 678-521-8820.

Strictly Speaking
I love teaching business professionals how adding the personal touch to their communications can help them become memorable and increase their success. On Monday, September 18th, I’ll be sharing tips with the Marketing Insurance Claims Association on incorporating handwritten notes into marketing and connection strategies to build relationships and make more money. Over the last few months I’ve spoken to the Parkway Business Network group, a networking group for individuals in job transition, as well as made presentations to the Network for Success and North Point PowerCore teams. Let me know if your group that would like strategies on increasing sales by incorporating the personal touch into your connection efforts! Contact me at 678-521-8820 or vlowry@profitsinprogress.com.

Health Tip: Interact and Keep Your Brain Young
Lawrence Katz, PhD, a professor of neurobiology at Duke University and co-author of Keep Your Brain Alive, advocates more than just physical activity. Social interaction enhances neurobic exercise in the brain. "Research shows that being out in the world is like a gym for the brain," Katz says. "And social interaction is a big part of a brain-healthy lifestyle."

Quote of the Month
-
“When it comes to finding out about new jobs - or, for that matter, new
information, or new ideas - 'weak ties' are always more important than strong ties. Your friends, after all, occupy the same world that you do. They might work with you, or live near you, and go to the same same churches, schools, or parties. How much, then, would they know what you wouldn't know? Your acquaintances, on the other hand, by definition occupy a very different world than you. They are much more likely to know something that you don't.”

- Malcolm Gladwell, The Tipping Point
